CSIRAC is perhaps, the least well-known of the very early stored-program computers.
Designed by Trevor Pearcy in Australia, it ran its first program in November 1949 and is
reckoned to be the fifth electronic stored-program computer in the world and,
since it has long since outlived
its contemporaries, is certainly the oldest surviving such machine.
CSIRAC is on display at the Scienceworks Museum in Melbourne albeit not in an
operable condition.
It is understood that the extent of renovation which would be required to make it
work in a safe manner would detract from its authenticity.
