About the seminar
This talk follows on from earlier talks given on the EMIDEC 1100 system itself and the Barclays Applications that ran on the EMIDEC. It will focus on how the system was programmed and the challenges facing the EMIDEC programmer.
About the speaker
Professor David Parsons is Royal Academy of Engineering Visiting Professor at Salford University. Until 2006 he was also the BCS Regional Manager supporting BCS professional and chartered member activities in the North. In 1993 he retired from the role Advanced Technology Director at Barclays Bank where he enjoyed a long career working with computers and their application to banking. His early experience with computers in Barclays included working as a programmer and systems designer on the EMIDEC 1100.
