About the seminar
The illustrated talk outlines the history and development of biomedical imaging systems, such as Ultrasound and CT/MRI, that have been enabled through the advances in computer technology. The functionality and advantages of the different imaging modalities will be covered and some specific applications that the speaker has been involved with will be described.
About the speaker
Tim Ritchings is Professor of Intelligent Systems in the School of Computing, Science and Engineering at the University of Salford. His research interests are related to the development and evaluation of novel Intelligent Systems that involve biomedical signals and images, using Pattern Recognition and AI techniques to help in their interpretation and understanding of the data.
