About the seminar

Original films can tell the story of the period and of the early UK computer developments, and for this event we have compiled a selection from historic films showing:

A commentary will be included on where each fits in the development and application of computers. We expect the films will bring back memories and details of interest - and that will lead into some discussion.

The films are drawn from the archives of the Science Museum, and of the Computer Conservation Society. Several are period gems, which have not been shown to the society previously.

In no particular order, we expect machines from LEO, BTM, Elliott and EMI to be represented in the films.
