Futures
Theme
The theme of the work is:
- perturbations derail big and small companies
- all the past market perturbations in the IT industry have stemmed
from technology
- often applied to a new market, it then washes over the existing
market and changes it dramatically
- the WWW is the tip of the next iceberg
- the Information Revolution will derail some big companies and many
small ones
- because it will change the industry "food chain" - who supplies
what and adds value
- there are two or three key technologies which will perturb the market
- ANSA is identifying them and hence the structure of browsers,
servers, applets and networks for the year 2000
- ANSA is also studying the revised market "food chain" they will create
- and the opportunities, threats and risks
- and the timescale for these developments entering the marketplace
- finally, these consensus results will be used to focus the
workprogramme for ANSA.
