About the seminar

KDF9 was the first computer that the speaker met. It was only later that he appreciated the extent to which it was an unusual and clever design. He will look at aspects of the order code, both from the software aspects and the hardware implementation. He will also examine at aspects of programming from the point of view of the end user and systems programmer.

He will touch on our modern resurrection of KDF9 software, two Algol 60 implementations and two assemblers, and ask why there was no KDF10.
