Joining the Computer Conservation Society

The CCS welcomes new members all the time. There isn't a subscription fee for the society, but members are encouraged to make a suggested donation of £15 each year to the CCS restoration fund. This fund is used to recover and restore machines of interest to the CCS and its members.

All members of the CCS receive a copy of the bulletin Resurrection four times a year. You can choose to access Resurrection online and not recieve a printed copy.

You do not have to be a member of the BCS to join to the Computer Conservation Society

  • If you are a member of the BCS you can join the CCS online: Login to the member area of the BCS web site and find the 'Manage your membership' box on the right of the page. Scroll down to Preferences, and click on the link for 'Specialist Group Memberships' . Then you can tick the box for the `Computer Conservation Society' and then submit. You will receive a email message notifying you that you have been added to our member list, and you will also be added to a Email list of CCS members in the BCS.
  • If you are not a member of the BCS, you can still join online by clicking here to complete the application form.
  • Sending us a donation.
After you have joined the CCS, please click here to download a donation form to send to our treasurer.

Another benefit of joining the CCS
Since the beginning of 2003, members of the Computer Conservation Society have benefited under an arrangement whereby they can subscribe to the IEEE’s Annals of the History of Computing at a reduced rate, provided that enough members sign up to make the scheme viable. To take advantage of this, please contact the CCS secretary when you have joined.
